OMG, this episode grossed me out so much. I had to look away during much of the first 20 minutes or so.
And it's unfortunate that I don't think I could watch it again because there were many things I liked about it. Sam and Dean seemed more together in the beginning than they had in a while. And of course Sam has to go and drink demon blood and just split them apart again.
From the beginning I explained to hubby that Dean wasn't feeling the hunger because he was borderline suicidal. And of course with the usual anvilicious writing, Famine confirms that Dean is "dead inside." I'm not actually sure I buy that. I think you can make an argument that his drive to keep fighting against his destiny counts for something.
(Although the slasher in me is like "Look, Cas is right there beside you, he WANTS you...take him and live again!" *coughs*)
The last scene where he begs for help I thought we were going to get Dean saying yes to Michael and thus begin hiatus with a cliffhanger. This scene makes me wonder if Kripke hasn't forgotten the search for God, somehow. (God is currently snowed in at the Jersey shore, waiting for the ski ball arcades to open again...)
And is it just me or is Sam ridiculously sexy when he's all hyped up and kicking ass? I just might have a thing for evil powered guys...
Cas eating burgers was kinda funny. But poor Jimmy! He's still in there? What happens to him if Cas's powers fade away like "In the End"?
All right, I have more editing to do. And actual work tomorrow after two snow days. Night all!
