Knitting and editing
So sometime during the past week I decided I wanted to learn how to knit. (My dad wants me to make him a silk scarf, and while I can crochet pretty well, I'm looking for more options in scarves, which I thought knitting would provide. Plus it uses less yarn, and when you're talking pure silk, that's cost effective.)
I picked up a book from work (the ONLY book on knitting we have) and bought a set of needles. My grandmother had shown me the knit stitch when I was a little girl, and that was relatively easy to pick up. The purl stitch is a bitch though.
As I said on twitter, I renamed the stitches Sam (knit) and Dean (purl) because Sam goes in from the back and Dean through the front. *giggles* Although the problem with this is when I'm knitting I'm muttering under my breath "Sam, Sam, Dean, Dean, Sam, no Sam goes in through the back...Dean..."
In conclusion, knitting is fascinating, but HARD. I think a scarf is probably the most complicated I'm going to get with it.
I also finished revising the first 3 chapters of the big bang fic (out of 19...). My goal is another 3 today. If I can do a few during the week and another 6 next weekend, I should be right on track for whenever the reveal is. \o/ This has done a lot to calm my nerves about the project. And all the comments from my betas have helped, and it's truly going to be a better story for that.
Now if I can only fit seeing Star Trek in somewhere.
